Founded in October 2016 by the writer Boubacar Boris Diop, EJO is a Senegalese publishing house specialized in literature written in national languages. Its catalog offers books of a variety of genres – novel, poetry, and essay. Céytu is one of EJO’s collections which offers translations to Wolof of Aimé Césaire’s Une saison au Congo, Mariama Ba’s Une si longue lettre, and Jean-Marie Le Clézio’s L’Africain. EJO has also created the first free online news platform in Wolof defuwaxu.com. Since 2016, EJO has partnered with several institutions and entities including IFAN, EBAD, Fondation UCAD, PALAE in an effort to offer language instruction in Wolof to faculty and students at the Cheikh Anta Diop University.
